DRIFTWOOD VALLEY - BABINE MOUNTAINS - VACATION RENTAL
Your Escape to Nature
It was a complete pleasure to stay in Peter and Suzanne's log cabin just outside of Smithers for this past week in October. Their stunning property lies about 20 minutes out of town at the edge of pristine Babine Park, with the Log Cabin perched up on a hill providing a breathtaking view of the parks' untouched forests and highly accessible forests and mountains. From the valley floor, the sound of the creak provides an soothing background. This cabin is hand crafted by the Peter himself, and the design and craftsmanship was highly impressive. It provided us with warmth and comfort for our stay and as soon as the wood fired stove got going we were toasty. There is a well stocked kitchen, mini fridge, propane stove, and toaster oven. It's set up with radio and TV, and wifi thats pretty spotty. I didn't manage to get any cell service. However, it was really nice to unplug and do some reading/ resting/ relaxing during our time in the cabin. It really is an idyllic retreat, in a breathtaking setting. Suzanne and Peter were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful, and delightful hosts to us. We are looking forward to our return to this wonderful place. We're going to make a point of getting more time in the park as we were a little busy with work…and fishing…on this trip, and we didn't manage to get any proper hikes in. But, weather its exploring the Northwest B.C environment, commuting into Smithers or the surrounding communities, or just relaxing this place comes highly recommended. You will be undoubtedly impressed with what Peter and Suzanne have to offer here in this little patch of paradise.
